Query Language

This chapter describes the query language of Search. The query language should be regarded a semi-formal language. It supports all aspects of the Search query system by its syntax. Yet grammar or syntax errors do not directly lead to exceptions. Since the query language is directly exposed to end-users in the main search bar, the parser is designed to be robust, and to recover all recognizable parts of the submitted query.
